Lemonade is a very old drink that was regulated from the middle of the 17th century. The lemonade makers are then authorized to sell their drinks.

Did you know? The recipe for this famous drink is different depending on the country! Thus, in France as in the United States or in Turkey it is made from water, sugar, and lemon, while in India it can also contain salt and ginger juice. In Ireland, it can be read and is then served with Whiskey. Here you can see the benefits of lemonade.

Benefits and properties

The first ingredient in lemonade is of course lemon. This fruit is known to have many beneficial effects on our body. It is a slimming and detox asset.

It is rich in vitamin C, in citric acid and flavonoids. In short, it is health food par excellence! In addition, lemon has an anti-bacterial and antiviral action and stimulates the immune system.

Drinking lemonade on an empty stomach in the morning helps hydrate. Plus, lemon juice mixed with hot water aids digestion.

Homemade carbonated lemonade recipe

Nothing could be simpler than making your own lemonade and in addition, you will amaze your guests! Here are the ingredients to prepare it at home for 6 people:

  • 3 organic lemons
  • 1 l of sparkling water
  • 170 gr of sugar

You can make it in a large 1.5l pitcher or directly in glasses. To do this, grated lemon zest. Collect the juice and mix it with the sugar in a bowl. Macerate for an hour and then add the iced sparkling water. Enjoy immediately! It’s popular to serve it in jam jars with a striped paper straw.

Artisanal lemonade

If you do not want to start making your own lemonade, know that there are very good artisanal lemonades made in France! There is, of course, the famous Lorina, but why not try L’Abeille, la Gosse, the Miami or even the Limonette (there are obviously many others!). You will find them from 1.5 € for those sold in supermarkets.

Japanese lemonade

Ramune, or the art of Japanese lemonade! The Japanese are also very fond of this refreshing drink but in their own way! Imported in the 19th century from England, this lemonade is different from the one we know both in taste and appearance.

A carbonated drink contained in a glass bottle, the ramune (this is the brand that markets this drink) is closed by a ball. It is quite an art (and a helping hand!) To open it. It is the pressure of carbon dioxide that holds the ball as a plug. Guaranteed effect on novices!

Reduces inflammatory conditions

Another benefit linked to its anti-oxidant properties: lemon is an excellent anti-inflammatory. Thus, it decreases low-grade inflammation (known as “silent inflammation”) which, reminds Alexandra Dalu, can trigger diseases ( cardiovascular ailments, diabetes, asthma, allergies, arthritis and other joint ailments, etc.) in the long term.
