Food storage and food containers have always been the most important part of the food Industry. It is astonishing to see restaurants and cafes serving hot food within no time. Everybody does know that restaurants preserve food. Here’s how they do it. 

Dry Storage

The dry storage method is used for long shelf-life food. Foods that stay fresh for a longer duration and do not need any environmental condition control are stored with the dry storage technique.

Refrigerated Storage

As the name suggests, refrigerated storage is used for food that needs to be stored at low temperatures. The rooms in which food is stored are maintained at a certain temperature making it suitable for food to stay fresh for longer durations.

Frozen storage is the same as cold storage but they both differ in temperature. The temperature in the freezer or frozen storage is very low when compared with cold storage.

Types Of Food Containers

Different food containers are to be used for different storage types. For example, not every food container made with plastic can be used for microwaves. So, there are different materials used to make different containers.

Plastic

Plastic containers are the most famous type of food storage containers. These plastic containers come with an HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) stamp.  Polycarbonate, polyester, and polyethylene are also used to produce plastic food containers. These can be used to store dry food.

Metal Cans

Though metal cans are famous for drinks and oils they don’t work great for longer durations. As metal reacts with vapor, air, and moist long durations may lead to the formation of rust. But they go well with dry foods. The material used for producing metal cans is completely different from other equipment and is also expensive. Aluminum, steel are two materials used in the preparation of metal cans. 

Vacuum Pouches

Vacuum pouches have become popular these days. They’ve become pretty famous as people are in search of small things which occupy less space. They don’t occupy much space and last longer once sealed. 

Glass Jars

The most famous in the decorative niche. Glass jars are costly as they require different equipment. A glass jar can be reused for longer periods of time.
