Loose leaf tea is tea in the purest form and it’s much less processed every step of the way, from picking to stepping. It keeps the distinctive flavor and aroma, and you still get all the benefits of tea. There are a number of reasons why you should choose to drink organic loose leaf tea

Why Organic Tea?

Many people choose organic tea for health reasons, but there are other reasons why you want to choose organic tea.

Better for You: Organic tea is better for you. Some fertilizers and pesticides are removed during the processing of the tea but many of the chemicals are water-soluble, which means that they are also removed during steeping. Drinking pesticide-contaminated tea can do you more harm than good and decrease your lifespan.

Better for Farmers: If the pesticides and chemicals aren’t good for you then they also aren’t great for the farmers. Some of the current proponents for organic tea farmers are those that have directly been impacted by the effects of chemical tea farming.

Supports Small Farms and Farmers: While there are some larger organic tea farms throughout the world, the majority of organic farms are run by smaller businesses. There may also be more ethical treatment of workers. The money you spend on the tea can go directly toward the farmers themselves.

Better for the Tea Plant: When chemicals are added then the plant is grown in a stressful and toxic environment instead of one that has grown in harmony with nature. You may even feel the difference between organic and other conventionally grown teas. Some think that the negative effects of drinking too much tea, such as sleeplessness, aren’t due to the caffeine but the chemicals in conventional tea.

Doesn’t Cause Environmental Damage: Tea conventionally grown is one of the most environmentally devastating crops. Since tea is typically grown in higher elevations, the chemicals may damage the local ecosystem but then also run down the hills and mountains and damage other rivers, farms, and forests, even miles away.

Why Loose Leaf Tea?

Loose leaf tea is high in antioxidants, along with many other benefits. Antioxidants help neutralize damaged cells. This not only makes you feel and look better but can also help prevent disease.

  • Weight Loss and Management: One of the most common benefits of tea is weight loss. Green tea is the best for weight loss since it is made of a high number of catechins to help boost your metabolism.
  • Settling an Upset Stomach: Certain herbal teas, such as peppermint and ginger, are popular since they help with gastrointestinal issues.
  • Boost Energy and Mental Alertness: Black tea is great for boosting your energy and helping with mental alertness. Tea can be a gentler way to get more energy than coffee. The caffeine in black tea isn’t as strong as coffee so the peaks aren’t as intense. It’s a good alternative to coffee.
  • Promotes Improved Mood and Relaxation: Some herbal teas, such as sage and chamomile, help the mind and body relax.
