Have you ever wondered why devouring a perfectly seared, juicy meatloaf instantly lifts up your spirits? After a long, exhausting day, a fat beef burger is what you need to drown away the fatigue. Of course, you can toss in a few greens for some crunch, but one can’t keep living on veggies for a fulfilling meal.

Whether it’s the aroma of slow-cooked sticky beef ribs, scrumptious steak sandwiches, or a sultry spaghetti Bolognese – we all can agree on one thing –  meat on the Barbie is what completes our life! Here are some of the most succulent and deliciously decadent recipes using the best-tasting meat that will leave you with lip-smacking joy!

1.      15-Minute Super-Juicy Mongolian Beef

Total Time: 15 Minutes

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 2 lbs Flank Steak
  • 1-2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • ½ tsp ginger (ground)
  • 1-2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1-2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 tsp sesame oil
  • Green onions and green chillies for garnish (as desired)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  • Start by thinly slicing the flank steak against the grain for tender meat. Slice up the meat into long, slender strips.
  • Next, place the strips into a large bowl and mix in the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil. Evenly coat the meat with the marinade and leave to rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Now, take a large skillet and put it on high-heat. Pour in the olive oil and nicely heat up the pan. Sear the meat for at least 2-3 minutes on each side if you like it medium-rare. Otherwise, sear it until you reach the desired doneness.
  • Once cooked, plate out the meat and garnish with sliced green chillies and green onions.

2.        Spicy Ginger Pepper Steak

Total Time: 20 minutes

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb Australian beef flank steak
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 2 medium-sized green peppers (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp corn starch
  • 2 tsp canola oil

Method:

  • Slice up the beef against the grain into thick chunks.
  • In a large bowl, toss in the vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and corn starch. Mix everything nicely and add the beef.
  • Coat the meat nicely and leave to rest for 5-10 minutes.
  • Next, in a large skillet, heat up the canola oil and throw in the peppers. Stir-fry them for 2-3 minutes and take out. In the same skillet, heat up some more oil and toss in the beef. Stir-fry it on high-flame until it develops a nice, golden brown colour. Toss in the peppers and give it a good mix on the heat.
  • Serve piping hot.

3.        Creamy One-Pot Beef Stroganoff

Total Time: 30 minutes

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb lean beef (ground)
  • 1 ½ cup mushrooms (thickly sliced)
  • ½ medium-sized onion (finely diced)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 4 cups beef stock
  • ¼ cup white wine (dry)
  • 2-3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup egg noodles (uncooked)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ dried thyme
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method:

  • Start by melting the unsalted butter in a skillet. Turn up the heat to medium-high and add onion and mushrooms while stirring and tossing occasionally. Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until the mushrooms is nicely browned. Add some salt and pepper for taste.
  • Next, add in the ground beef and cook until it browns. Make sure to mince and crumble the beef in the pan as it cooks. Throw in the minced garlic and the dried thyme. Cook for about a minute more or until the fragrance develops.
  • Make a small place in the centre of the skillet and add in the flour. Whisk it thoroughly until it turns golden brown for about a minute.
  • Now, toss in the wine and using a spatula, scrape down the brown bits from the pan and mix everything nicely. Next, pour in the beef stock, egg noodles, Dijon mustard, and the Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add some more salt and pepper to taste and then bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Give this a good 10 minutes or until it is completely boiled.
  • Pour in half a cup of sour cream for the perfect tartness and creamy texture and stir well for about 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with toasted garlic bread.
